Re: Sics Consolidated Moderns Thread
I've had three of that version of Fabia (albeit diesels) and I've loved them all (bought new), W reg, 03 and 53. The latter was the VRS which my father bought and I bought it of him at 12 months when he fancied a new one. Had that until 2013, commuted 90 miles a day in it! The drop links can fail fo...

Re: What did you do today?
Decided to replace the dodgy exhaust bungee on the 206cc the tester flagged up. IMG_20211016_125509.jpg Unfortunately the ones I bought weren't big enough so I sacked that off and decided to fix the Matiz exhaust bungee. This had rotted off the exhaust and was on the MoT advisory. The obvious way wa...

Re: What did you do today?
So, having improved my environmental credentials by spending most of the afternoon chopping up trees with a chain saw ready to chuck in the wood burner to keep us warm over winter, I had a few minutes spare. "I wonder what happens if I polish this shit Matiz headlight with my old Netto car poli...

Re: What did you do today?
Took the 206CC in for test today. Passed with two advisories. Exhaust mounting rubber is on its way out and o/s/f drive shaft. I was invited into the pit, sorry, MoT viewing area to watch the inner joint of the drive shaft not quite go around in a circular movement. Solid enough, isn't a problem cur...

Re: What did you do today?
Try nail varnish remover with acetone. I got some from Home bargains a week or two ago. Lidl do with and without so I bought the with. IMG_20211011_150618.jpg A bit of that, cloth, elbow grease and some polish compound I found in the garage and it looks better. IMG_20211011_151638.jpg Bit sides don...

Re: What did you do today?
"Aircon just needs a regas M8"... IMG_20211008_132929.jpg Think having a fucking belt attached would seriously help. Other than that, the front bumper lower edge rather missing screws (fixed with zip ties), IMG_20211008_133202.jpg and a couple of bulbs it's as ready to go as it will ever b...

Re: What did you do today?
IMG_20211007_125935.jpg Amazingly my "post production modification" (ie bodged) fuel filter pipework didn't leak when I fired up the Matiz. Bit of wire brushing the slightly* rusty bits at the back and a coat of paint and move onto the front where I'm sure* I will not find anything to wor...

Re: What did you do today?
50% there with the fuel filter fuck up after a trip to the excellent Worsboro' Motor Spares at Stairfoot. Amusingly the other customer when I walked in had the same problems with these quick release connectors. IMG_20211006_161939.jpg Before you ask, that little red thing on the left is the cover fo...

Re: What did you do today?
Thought I'd continue with the Matiz today. Oil, filters etc, easy job, couple of hours. FFS, started with the fuel filter. IMG_20211004_114316.jpg That looks old. So I removed the clips, which obviously broke. Then trying to remove the filter this happened, IMG_20211004_140637.jpg Yes, it was clearl...
