Told you the new exhaust wouldn't fit...

Great. This is after I have repaired a few pinholes on the downpipe. I'm happy to make my own exhaust pipes but don't want to do anything rash just yet so I've done a temporary repair

It will do for now. It's only journeys for a while will be in and out of my garage.

I also tried to tidy up some previous repairs and clean the surface rust off the drivers side floorpan. It appears it is more than surface rust... Not sure if you can buy new floorpans but if you can then I suppose I ought to buy one rather than repair this mess

That's the least of its worries...

So that is the drivers side now done apart from reattaching the wing. I moved onto the front panel which looked pretty good. I welded new lips on it a few years ago. I decided it was time to turn the car around. It started first flick of the key. I live in a quiet road so chose a time of day when there is little traffic. Well until I turned it around anyway, when it turned into an M6 replica. A lady of a certain age did not look amused to see a car with no lights or number plates on the road. Minus bumpers and wings too. Fuck her. What's she going to do, take the number plate down and call the fuzz?

I knew there were a couple of small holes but after a bit of tickling with the wire wheel several more appeared. My dark thoughts about just sticking some fibreglass in for now disappeared.

As you can see, I've started filling the many dents into the left hand side of the bonnet. There are a few more. I may just end up skimming the whole thing. Tedious I know but it stops and filler shrinkage showing up.

Next job? Front wing I suppose. It's not as bad as the other side was

Still needs plenty of work though. Someone has been here before. This repair has lasted well ( the front corner of the wing has been welded)

I know this is tempting doom but I chose to do the drivers side first as for some reason there was far more rot in it. This side looks easy in comparison. Still quite a bit to do though. Look at the size of the rust bubbles on this door for instance...

You certainly seem to be cracking on at a fair pace with this.
Do you have a target to get it back on the road by?
