What did you do today?

Talk about your cars etc here. Keep it sort of sensible and on topic please.

Ah I didn't realise a previous owner was on here. Cambelt will be first job after gearbox investigation. Where in north Norfolk, I love that area and I'm well overdue a visit. I'll probably keep it as is in the back though. It needs some more welding apparently but its got six months ticket left so plenty of time to do it. I've stopped doing updates on my autoshite thread as it seemed I was talking to myself, although that's not unusual these days! It's weird as two of my old Citroens had a great response on there after i sold them but no one was interested when i had them, i guess it's who you are really rather than what you owned. I'm enjoying reading this site so will try and post more.

I'm about 2 miles east of Cromer.

I'm not surprised about the welding, i think that they dissolve if you spit on them but we were still sorry to see it go.

It pulls really well with nice smooth gear changes. I didn't take it far on a first run as it needs the mirrors and side windows putting back in before a longer run. I will probably take it home next week though so I have room in the workshop to do the clutch on the hearse. Fingers crossed I can set the camera up and video it's first real run.

Today I did do my first giffer style accessory to the front of my house. In celebration of my upcoming 50th later this year I present the giffer parking aid. My front parking is short and the car needs to be as close to the bay window as possible so as not to hang out over the pavement. Reversing uphill on a gravel drive isn't fun in an automatic as I discovered last year when I managed to stick the towbar on the XM straight through the bay knocking 11 bricks out! Hopefully this will help a little at night when I come home from work.

Took the Saab for MOT reinspection and wife's modern for a service.

Now I'm going to have an assyrian (he is very proud of his roots judging by amount of flags and posters on his salon's walls) gent tidy up my beard. I'm spoiling myself.

I didn't realise the assyrians were still a distinctive group of people, I've always thought of them as having disappeared many years ago.

I made a thing to hang the bikes on the back of the gaylander. 3 bits of inch box section sticking off a bit of flat plate drilled to fit where the spare wheel normally goes.
