I agree.

I'm fortunate* in that having got my missus to agree £5.5k for the MGB sills to be repaired I'm not in the position to do anything car wise this year, even using 'man-maths'.

Which would be piss poor showing considering a silky smooth one was available 80 years ago, but I bet it depends on the overall condition.

I was surprised how good they were. Was expecting far worse. Four speed was pretty special too, most manuals then were only four too

I bet they work reasonably well for a four in the sump, especially when you keep the oil reasonably fresh and subtract that British slagging of anything British on a general principle. I find it fascinating that it works at all.

Yep, it's as annoying after a while as this permanent banging on about a sense of humour that isn't funny at all and those regular repeats of some stripy telly footage that was already boring in 1966.

Not tried the A series version, but having owned a Maxi with the E series version I can comment that when they work, the work very well.

Interesting is the B series in sump auto - with its oil system completely separate.
