There isn't 10mm left. I hammered an 8mm over it but that span...

I've never encountered something quite so stuck, I don't know if it's been crossthreaded or something but it's not budged regardless of tactic.

Bled the brakes with assistance today. They work fine and bring the car to a halt sharpish but I feel there is too much travel on the pedal. We shall see on Thursday when it's out for it's MOT.

I also took out the front splash guards to investigate some wheelarch rot and clean out any accumulated winter shit. Expected far worse, the main structure is all alright aside from a hole over near the headlights. I cunningly covered it up with an oily rag, so for MOT purposes it's fixed.

I then executed some quality repairs to the O/S/F wing, which is essentially scrap, and gave the thing a whore's respray. AKA I rattle canned all the surface rust.

It looks like shit, but it looked like shit before so I'm not fussed. I'd put a new wing on it but tbh the whole car is grotty enough to render it more of a winter beater than anything else. It's a reliable old shit heap but the effort that'd need to go into making it a nice example just isn't worth it.
I'm going to keep running it and stalling the deterioration as best I can and see where things go.

A week to fix any reasons for failure before the old one expires.

I never expect a car to pass...

Pessimist.

Mind you, I get a whole month to sort things here and can go in three months early. Must drag that Jizz over the pits when I get the new zorst.

Tommy's back next Thursday. The Pug is doing hee-haw at the minute, but he's got the keys. If you need some wheels to keep you working, just gie us a shout.

There was also a Mk2 Honda Ballade there, so we had a rare sighting of a Mk1 and Mk2 together!

They've already got a few thou under their treads. The MOT test complimented my choice of rubber (fnar) he runs Uniroyals himself.

Also ended up chatting to another bloke who came to arrange an MOT for his Mk2 Metro City X.
