I clocked one of those in New Jersey one afternoon. Couldn't bloody believe it. Tried to chase it in the company Escort (yeah, really, shit eh?) but it had fucked off (was already going the opposite direction). I did see a car show poster which I duly followed up and attended but it never turned up there.

That Nash actually looks better as an estate than the saloon. I have always had a bit of a soft spot for them but never enough to pay the prices they used to make.

When I was a kid I'd see them about and wonder why you'd design a car like that- Queen Mary turning circle and a 4 speed box with only 3 working. Easily fixed, and the estate would have had more appeal than the A 40's none.

How did that work? They didn't put all the cogs in that were originally designed in?

Blanked off first gear so you couldn't select it, same as done on the Austin Healey 100/4 (but at least you could have overdrive with that)

Because there was no synchro on 1st? Or because of first / reverse straight-cut gear whine?
