Honda VF1000R
One of my dream machines.
I would actually replace the VFR with this, but I can't afford to and I wouldn't want to mistreat it.
HRC colours of the 1980s are so good.
The VFR750 got really boring colours.

This is exactly what I keep thinking when I saw them. I'm really quite fancying a W124 at the moment after my current Merc experience. However I can't shed that they're cheap banger barges.NorfolkNWeigh wrote: ↑Sat Jan 06, 2024 8:26 pm Tell me this is a stupid idea and W124s should be £800.
For me, I'd think I'd want to go all out and get the 300e engine over the others. Go big or go home.

Re: EBay Finds
That said, this is probably the one I'd go see first out of those three

Says automatic on the advert.
Think that ebay does this automatically for lots of vehicles, and you can't change it

I have only ever sat in these as fairly high mileage Taxis with vinyl seats in Portugal and its older cousins in "How the fuck is this on the road" spec in Morocco.
The attraction of the three pointed star eludes me, perhaps just once driving a diesel A-Class didn't help.
A neighbour had a K plate estate with a wiring loom that became brittle, wires would randomly snap and things would stop working.
Another neighbour had a T plate big barge of a thing that developed holes in every wheel arch but he was a carpenter and filled it with doors and bannister rails so it was just a bangernomics workhorse.
I would love to have a go in a 190E Cosworth though, just dont want to own one.

Re: EBay Finds
I ran a 260E for several years. It was a nice thing but shat the cylinder head at a crucial point in its depreciation curve and I found a 190E for less than the estimated repair costs. The 190E wasn't as nice but lasted far longer, cost less to run and became Mrs Rocker's daily. If I had the money for a decent W124 I'd probably spunk it on a fucked W123.....
There's a great long bar in Rock & Roll heaven.......

This cost me £600 back in 2010 (the car not the lady, she cost a lot more)NorfolkNWeigh wrote: ↑Sat Jan 06, 2024 8:26 pm Tell me this is a stupid idea and W124s should be £800.
The UHU Blu Tac clone pouch is what I used to use to keep my tachograph discs in, well at least the tachos that I didn't frisbee out of the window whilst driving along the M6.
