Re: Wobland Spottage
I remember having a Mk1 Granny estate that was rather knackered to say the least. As I didn't want to turn up at a job interview in something that sounded like a Wellington and smoked like an A4 Pacific I hired a breadvan Polo for a couple of days.
I swear I could have parked it in the back of the Granada if the tailgate opened higher, it looked comical parked behind it on the driveway.

Re: Wobland Spottage
I reshelled one of those Polos once, over a weekend with a mate helping. From memory all we kept from the doner shell was the headlighting, wiring loom & petrol tank. Two of us quite easily lifted the bare shells to swap them as it was easier to lift the shell off the engine/box than the other way.
Be it'd take weeks on a new one with all the rubbish fitted & three or four to lift the bloated shell.

What's going on with that? 1.6Lx and a Ghia badge? Don't think I've seen a Cortina with the LX designation either although it could have been a run-out that I missed.

I suspect an Ali Express type "X" badge is fitted. Yours for a quidmercrocker wrote: ↑Fri Apr 05, 2024 7:38 pm What's going on with that? 1.6Lx and a Ghia badge? Don't think I've seen a Cortina with the LX designation either although it could have been a run-out that I missed.
Also has the GL wheels fitted, less the chrome trim rings.

Yes, I did think that! Just I had a Granada 2.3Lx (small x) where it was a dealer special with certain extras over the standard L trim but hadn't seen any Cortinas with that spec.....
