No doubt an engineers mind would assess shortcomings in how the system was mounted contributing to a stress fracture, but being a Luddite I bodged it up....

It’s much quieter, for now at least. It was starting to give me max power flashbacks, what with the paint colour and blaring exhaust, if not the vehicle itself.
Exhaust on my V6 Sharan is gradually falling to bits, I’m a lazy bastard of late and I’m just driving around the misfire and hitting recirc when I stop at junctions so I don’t top myself on the fumes.
Should probably investigate it but I just cba of late. Weird how I was bothered about the Galaxy but asbthisbthing is newer and arguably more fucked, I can’t summon the tinker genie.

Some post about fabricating box sections or grinding in their valves. Me, I’m more about overlooking things that need skill, and papering over the cracks/putting pointless stickers on a clapped out piece of shit instead. Soz

Are those turds ok mechanically? A matter his looking for a cheap van - £1500 touch. Transits are all fucked and rotten with diesel pump and injector issues. Trafics are far better to drive and don't rust, but turbo/gearbox woes. Sprinter just too big, even a shortie.

As far as this one goes the om611 seems totally indestructible, the gearbox is a bit worn but it seems punchy, economic and low Maintenance; if only the same could be said of the bodywork.

I had one new in 2001 as a works van, it seemed like an exocet missile after my turbo less Transit. It was pretty good wagon except for the fragile mirrors that were not transit tough in London. The discs brakes were not upto much - many of the fleet had lock ups and buckled/flat spotted wheels from full lock slides in a straight line. Ventilation system was crap mind, steamed up from new.
