But my old yellow beastie was 1800 RPM at 70-80

its no wonder they say V8's are lazy

So was this TX a slushbox puppy or is that just a replacement Revometer from a slush equipped donor?

3,600rpm at 70mph on my GSX, but it is nearly the same size engine as those cars...

I think the Jag is about 2,000rpm, I know it's a bit higher than I expected but a lot of modern stuff is like that. Something to do with emissions I suspect.

The car was just retrieved from a barn it sat in for an eternity or three and driven home, as you do. We believe it started life as an auto that was repaired* ages ago. A correct rotation gauge shall be installed in due course the way its owner comes across. However, the overall condition of the car is hitherto unknown, so its future hasn't been decided on yet.

They are an unusual design underneath but nothing too tricky to weld once you get you head around it. I suppose it all depends on price
