What did you do today?

Talk about your cars etc here. Keep it sort of sensible and on topic please.

I had two last year. A Skoda Octavia and a qashqai. Skoda had a battery drain fault and wasn't exactly big enough so changed it early for qashqai. Engine ECU failed and nissan Derby customer service was diabolical so it was reported to motability and I went back to cheap motors. 5 or 6 now since August and it's crippling me financially and causing me worry. Cant apply for motabilityyet as it expires end of year and is being renewed so until it's finalised I can't do anything yet either. Basically motability takes my mobility component and I get a car. Trouble is though larger cars with the preferred auto box are stupid advance payments. 400+ quid which I can't afford. P

Dibs on the Xantia please, I didn't know it was yours now! I've missed it a couple of times. Even if you kill it I'll still probably be interested!
You are first in line. Will need welding for MOT in September but I'm going back to motability cars I think. Less aggro!

I'd pressurise the insurance company as that should cover your advance payment I guess.

Whenever someone says that (or makes a pile of shit reference to vehicles) I automatically think "quality used spares"

When used in reference to BMW or Audi it usually means it's currently being driven on its way to Poland...

Agreed to buy a Citroen C15 van with a dodgy gearbox, then immediately get offered a free replacement box by a friend. Now need to sell a guitar and an amp to help pay for it. Also i worked out how to remove the Mercs rear seat so I can now attempt to find the abs sensor plug to fit a new sensor. Met the transport manager for the little family company I've accepted a job at. Roll on june when new job starts.

If he wants to fix it up then fair play. It owes me nothing,to be honest it actually made me money from the accident.

Glad to see the C15 is in good hands, it was ours for quite a few years until autumn 2017. I think that I've still got the metal divider that fits between the front seats and the load compartment but don't think that it fits with the wooden benches in there. If you're ever going to be in North Norfolk I can check and dig it out if you want.
It was due a replacement cambelt in Jan 18 if I remember correctly, 10 years after the last one was fitted.
Good luck with the new job.
