Agreed on the torch!

You should buy a brake pipe flaring kit. It's simple to make your own.

Cheers for the advice Mr Honda.

Wish I could buy a brake flaring tool but funds don't allow. I should have bought one years ago back when I had money but that was during my "spend £200+ at the strip club on a night out" phase...

If you get really stuck you can send your old pipe with unions to me and I will make you a new one, but obviously it would be a week before you got it back.

Totally fucking fucked mate. Big time.

Copious amounts of heat did not avail me of my brake woes. Indeed it merely caused more woes as it cost monies I don't have. I did also find a local motor factors who sold me some brake caliper bleed nipples and said they could make brake lines to order if I supplied the Imperial unions.

A mate is coming over tomorrow to help me bleed the system via the flexi-pipe join, hopefully in a less barely functional manner.

If I can get the brakes functioning properly I'll just pretend the whole ordeal never happened until I can either afford a new caliper or dare to attempt to drill out the remains of the bleed screw...

Tokico explains it! I believe that's the same make as the front calipers on my GSX & they rot so quick I have to rebuild them every six months as the white crystal growth pushes the dust seals out till the pistons jam.

They are actually not too bad all things considered. Judging by the yellow paint on the bolts which matches various other bits of the car I reckon they've been on there since the car rolled off the production line!

They're at least a millionty billion times better than the Civic's calipers which were beyond fucked in all ways imaginable.

Have you got a welder? I sometimes weld a nut over the nipple. That's sure to shift it.

What diameter is that mangled hex?

It's one thing heating it, it's another gripping the bastard tight enough. I'll demonstrate what I mean in a couple of days when I have my shit together.

Any why are the unions Imperial? Even the Allegro was metric.

I have a set of these somewhere

If (and that's a big if) I can find them, I'll post you the 10mm one. It might grab it.

That's why I was asking the diameter. It doesn't look like there is 10mm left...
