It's home! No pics as it was a bit dicey with no cooling fan (stuck in traffic too long then it'd threaten to overheat and drop the coolant - suspect duff thermostat), also the battery was dead (now on charge) so I couldn't stop it as it'd need jump starting.

It runs and drives wonderfully, I really like it. Virtually silent inside.

I'm giving it a clean now.

I'm not sure you've refitted the Civic's boot mat properly.

Lol, we were refitting the rear bumper. That's just a mat we use.

Given it a wash, but it needs doing again it was that bad. Paint needs a cut and polish. Interior has been vacuumed out, seats given some leather restorer, took out all the of parking tickets and detritus, it's really coming up well.

So happy that it's finally on the move and is getting TLC.
On another hand I am actually really sad that it's gone.
What's your mum's opinion? Is it what she wanted?

She seems to like it, but she's only sat in it without the battery on as that's all that's currently possible - it can't be driven again until the cooling issues are sorted. We're both fairly sure she'll enjoy it though.

That manual will be fantastic, can't thank you enough.

Had to stop a couple of times on the journey to let it cool off. I had to take a very roundabout way home to avoid potential ANPR nightmares on smart motorways, and to keep the car moving in clean air as much as possible (so lots of quiet or fast moving roads), as the only cooling the engine was getting was from it getting pushed through the air!

The car ran fine, with no issues, the longer it ran the better it ran too. The gearbox takes a while to find the gears when you're setting off, and sometimes the car shunts forward when it does, but it changes smoothly. New ATF is on the cards.
The noise it makes when you out your foot down is sublime.

I did like those when I worked in a dealer. Last of the proper Volvos, RWD, comfy & will run till the planet melts in a supernova.

My uncle in law had a V6 one from new. Same age as that. Until last year it was being maintained by a Volvo main dealer to bolster its retail value. It then seized its engine last year and got weighed in... What a tool.

I just thought I would mention that.
OMG U OK HUN?
