Re: Stupid questions about motorised conveyances

A really good friend of mine was a teacher (Physics) but loved bus/coach driving and did it at any opportunity. He worked part-time for Wallace Arnold Coaches and many times I went with him for the crack. I was always fascinated by the electric brake switch on the left side of the column (Telma?) an...

Re: What did you do today?

While out with the mutt this morning, dodging rain showers (raining when I awoke, dry at just gone ten so took her out sharpish), just as we got back to the car, the heavens opened, by crikey did it sodding rain. So, as the auto lights and wipers on the Merc are utterly shit, I turned them on manual...

Re: What did you do today?

Well you've had enough practice at it; doing it every 2 days, or so it seems. Not washed them in WEEKS! Polished them, yes :) As I was washing the Merc, a bloke pulled up beside me and stated; 'I love your Jag, bloody nice car that'. So I've got a stalker who knows I own two cars or just someone wh...

Re: What did you do today?

Washed the cars.

Okay, what a big whoop but it's a triumph for enthusiasm over experience.

Re: What did you do today?

The wheel trim I bought from eBay arrived today. It's BETTER than the ad suggested it would be. I quickly went and fitted it to my next-door neighbour's car as it was for him, not me, I just bought it out of the 'goodness' of my heart... Of course, now they want to know how much it cost but I just b...

Illegal as I was 16 years and 8 days old... mopeds were... boring!

Wish I'd stuck to the Puch!

Re: What did you do today?

Had a strange occurrence in the Merc this morning; Bella back in the car, weary body contorted back into same, and turn the car around in the road. Into 'Drive' and the sod won't change up. Use the paddles and still no go, seems to be stuck in first gear. Try the paddles again, and second gear is fo...

Re: Transit Tales. Owned or rented.

I'm not sure if I've posted this before (and too lazy to look) but I am the most intimate with a Transit of anyone on the site! I interfaced a frail human teenage body with the hard and unyielding rear end of a MK1 Transit leaving an impression in the rear D/S rear wing and door and much shattered g...

Re: Two wheels good.

I thought the trick with a weave was to load up the front and keep the throttle open? That worked for me several times when I had my (wobbly) Z1R. I bought a crashed CB900 FA from a parsons son that had slightly bent forks and cosmetic damage. I got it cheap (naturally) and then sold my mint... CB90...
