Re: What did you do today?

Had a strange occurrence in the Merc this morning; Bella back in the car, weary body contorted back into same, and turn the car around in the road. Into 'Drive' and the sod won't change up. Use the paddles and still no go, seems to be stuck in first gear. Try the paddles again, and second gear is fo...

Re: Transit Tales. Owned or rented.

I'm not sure if I've posted this before (and too lazy to look) but I am the most intimate with a Transit of anyone on the site! I interfaced a frail human teenage body with the hard and unyielding rear end of a MK1 Transit leaving an impression in the rear D/S rear wing and door and much shattered g...

Re: Two wheels good.

I thought the trick with a weave was to load up the front and keep the throttle open? That worked for me several times when I had my (wobbly) Z1R. I bought a crashed CB900 FA from a parsons son that had slightly bent forks and cosmetic damage. I got it cheap (naturally) and then sold my mint... CB90...

Re: EBay Finds

My very first car was an 'S' type! 3.4 manual with O/D in dark blue and... rust. A lot of rust. In fact it never got anywhere near a road in my ownership other than the drive home where it was found to go very well but displayed, odd, indeed terrifying tendencies to veer across the road at intervals...

Bollox to that! Bella does, however, like being outside helping. People comment on her stood by my side, looking on anxiously in case she misses some detail. I think it'll be HER that starts a valeting service!

Re: What did you do today?

Decided the exhaust tailpipes on both cars were rather letting the side down. But, a session with Solvol Autosol and a scourer from the kitchen, soon had them back to shiny and clean.

I am so very sad...

Re: That awful colour MGB GT

I've had the SLK for nigh on 7 years now! That really surprised me when I thought about it. I keep thinking about flogging it but there is fuck all about that I fancy (Jag XKR rag top maybe) and my desire for a 55 has waned after I learned about AMG suspension!

Re: Two wheels good.

Obviously, not a bike (as I ain't got one... sob!) but I have a space under the kitchen counter full of bits for the cars, I even have a complete set of clocks for the SLK (it used to have a 'pink shrimp' but I cured it without the need for the new clocks) spare wipers for the Jag (odd size fucker) ...
