Re: What did you do today?

I fitted a pair of winter tyres to my Mondeo once. I was too tight for 4. The trouble is, the back end would snap out when you least expected it. Buy 4 or buy none.

Front tyres are getting low and the rears are looking shabby on my transit. Has anyone got any reccomendations for aset of cold weather ones for it?

Re: How to buy a car in the lockdown. Bentley Turbo R

Depending on which story you subscribe to, it was either Stephen Harper or Graham Hull who chose the headlamps for the Bentley Turbo R facelift. I believe, they were generic, off the shelf items, although knowing Crewe, they probably re-engineered them from start to finish before production.

Re: How to buy a car in the lockdown. Bentley Turbo R

Can I just divert the thread for a moment? I've been running my LWB Shogun on factory spec Dunlop Grand Trek tyres, made in Japan. I suspected they were dreadful and that it wasn't the car, so got myself into tick up to my eyeballs for a set of Pirelli Scorpions. The difference is like night and day...

Re: What did you do today?

Today I washed the Shogun, then used Autoglym red, then autoglym gold on it. I can't stop my arms and hands going into cramp. I washed it, clayed bar'd it and red autoglym'd it the other week in preparation.

Re: Mx-5 NA

I did a track day in the MGF once after spending hundreds preparing it. I lost it on the warm up lap and only by the grace of Allah did I manage to avoid the little shed that doubled as a timing hut. Top down in the MGF the most scared I felt was leaving Croft circuit when giving it big licks coming...

Re: Mx-5 NA

How do you value MX-5s? Prices are all over, but I presume that's because of the rampant rot? I'm a MGF/TF man, but a change is as good as a rest. It just seems like I'm swopping HGF for rust. I've always found the MGF the more comfortable car, but I'm prepared to sacrifice my comfort. A bit.
