Re: What did you do today?

Moting a 2006 MINI cooper S auto this morning, my glamorous assistant drove it in to work and said she heard a very loud crack from the passenger side. At first I couldn't find anything then onto the brake rollers and CRACK felt it through the car. The same again coming out of the rollers so it's no...

Re: Hello Hal, we have a problem.

We have a customer with Essential Tremor or wobbly head as we call him (behind his back). There is an old dear that goes nextdoor with the same. That BMW would be doing a slalom if people like that got behind the wheel.

Re: What did you do today?

Replaced a rear light bulb on a Mini convertible today..What a faff. There is an inspection cover which is useless so you have to remove the carpet. Remove the plastic trim with two torx. You have to lift the back of the roof first. It won't get completely out of the way due to the glass and rear seat ...

Re: 1979 Trouble Spitfire

As Eddie says it is supposed to blow through. Have you checked to see if it is blowing or sucking ? Hot air sucked from the engine bay isn't going to cool the radiator very well.

Well it got him to the Dr's and then home. The piston had come out of the wheel cylinder as it wasn't seated correctly on the back plate. New cylinder and brake shoes are on their way so should be fixed this afternoon.

Re: What did you do today?

Came into work today and a mate is parked outside with the bonnet up on his car. " I've got no brakes" he says. Put the car on the ramp and when he put his foot on the brake fluid is pouring out of the rear drum.Looks like a piston has come out of the wheel-cylinder. He is all of a panic a...

Re: What did you do today?

As the weather is picking up I dragged my 206cc out into the light.Gave it an engine service, fitted new discs and pads on the front, a new Lambda sensor and a side repeater (removing the wheel-arch liner to do so).The rear beam seemed to be seized due to standing. As I have a four post ramp and a j...
