Re: Wobland Spottage

Yeah, most of the surviving ones seem to have ended up on the strip. Interesting cars but very difficult to see one in stock form.....

Re: Found pics

I wondered about that, too.....Perhaps the bold number on the Airstream indicates a hire fleet or could it belong to a sited community of some kind and be on the move between those? I took the two foreigners to be Fiats as Norfolk indicates and that is definitely an America - the later models of whi...

Re: Wobland Spottage

Nice shots which belie the bloody coldness that is blighting me at present....That GTE is a perfect slice of Seventies goodness with the original rims and Golde roof, love it! I know it isn't your bag but that W108/9 Mercedes behind the droopy hatch Vauxhall looks to be LWB, did it perchance run a 6...

Re: Austin A70 Hampshire

Aye but you will have added time, labour of love and skills into what has already been built. That sum total is more worthy than something stamped-out nowadays no matter how much "heritage" is in it. Am I alone in presuming that even manufactured articles retain a "spirit" of tho...

Re: Found pics

So it is! I seem to remember a few years ago one of the Post Office car insurance posters on the wall in our local PO featuring a Zaporozhets....I wonder if it is deliberate to avoid brand-imaging or similar marketing tosh.

Re: Austin A70 Hampshire

Agree completely.....As I have mentioned before, effectively AD has saved two A70s. Full-width body styling belies the fact that they are traditionally built on a chassis and many a pre-war vehicle has been re-bodied or re-chassised but very often with a replica or new-build of one or other "co...

Re: Wobland Spottage

I hate out-of-character numberplates but then I am a bit weird about the whole thing admittedly. I agree with Mr Impala, they do jar. Badly. I am also sensitive to those cars who have lost their original registrations and/or being imported after the change to age-related (but plainly never issued) o...

Me? I'd prefer this smol boxy luxury saloon: Moretti DAF 55.

A connection with the base vehicle of both that and the Rio is of course Michelotti.....Did he pen that Moretti, too?
