I just find that the arches are so far into the footwells I have to sit facing the radio as there's no room for my left leg otherwise. I drove a 7esque kit car for years so maybe that's why the tight footwell didn't register? I drove that to work wearing rigger boots and have got size 10 feet. It's...

I'd go with that tbh. Carb drillings are tiny on small motors & it won't take much in it to upset things even if a bit blows through.

Gromit once managed to lock himself in a Sierra I had, while it was running. Lucky I was outside home defrosting the car so I could get the spare keys.
