A wee band of oldies had a day working on a friend's Standard Eight and a couple of Grey Fergies. I make do with the blue tooth FM thing and I'm in the third car in a row with a 6 cd changer built in which serves as a good back up.

Check the flexi hoses maybe

Failing that, I would change the master cylinder. Doesn't have to be visibly leaking for the seals to be fucked.
