Re: Four Oh! Five.
My experience of modern* Citroen seats is limited to a C5 I never got to drive far enough to form any meaningful opinion of, but the older ones in things like the BX and CX didn't suit me at all. They were fine for the first30 minutes or so, then the lack of lumbar support made me fidgety. The 405 h...

Re: The Boring And Long Winded Story Of a Man And His 405s
The 405 must be one of the best looking estates out there, I'd happily give one a home. I also share your aversion to dead cow as a seating material btw, not for any hippy animal rights reasons but purely because I find them cold in winter, hot and sticky in summer and slidey and creaky all year rou...

Not really a bike person but I always thought these old Suzuki Katanas looked pretty smart.

Re: Four Oh! Five.
Pretty much all the people who have travelled in mine have commented on the comfort of the seats Aye, the seats draw quite a few compliments, even from non-car people who rarely notice anything about the crap I drive. Today this happened, and I nearly missed it. https://i.imgur.com/SVHOnqt.jpg

Re: Four Oh! Five.
It may be a bit nose heavy too and detract from the pleasurable chuckability. I think that's more like the real answer. Even the wonderful V6 version of the Alfa 156 feels quite a bit more nose heavy and less filcky (Is that a word? Is now) than the 1750 and 2 litre versions. The MeSez is meant to ...

Re: Four Oh! Five.
Is that a 1.6? Daren’t drive one today as maybe the passage of time will show it up a little, but forever a fond memory. Aye, just a boggo 1.6. It's quite nippy though, 90bhp in a car that weighs bang on a ton is plenty for keeping up with modern traffic both in town and on the motorway. It holds i...

Re: Four Oh! Five.
One of the nicest properties of Four or Fives is that they pass most people by. They are a bit of an insider thing. I know what you mean. Despite their relative popularity in the UK it's a car that hadn't ever crossed my radar until I found myself owning one. It's also the first true repmobile I've...

Four Oh! Five.
Thought I'd do a wee post on my current mode of transport, a 1994 Peugeot 405. Bought from a bloke on The Beige when my previous car failed its MOT rather more drastically than I'd been hoping (often the reason for a new car for me), this cropped up just at the right time and right price. Somehow th...

Re: EBay Finds
I've never liked the looks of the E Type. The early ones with the wheels way inside the arches remind me of that other British sporting icon, the Commer van, and the later ones just look fat. That one's got nearly as big a glass-to-door ration as a Fiat Multipla.
