Regarding the Midget I used my MGB as a daily driver for a few years in the late 70s/early 80s, commuting 15 miles each way to work through Leeds every workday. It was OK in the snow and never got stuck, partially I think because it has relatively narrow tyres, 165/80, for its weight. Obviously not ...

My son's Pluriel has a mahoosive dent in the back but we've been driving it around for a couple of years or so now as it's perfectly safe, just looks battered if you see it from the back.

I think that it depends on the company.
This happened to my eldest's Pluriel and Tesco, believe it or not, dealt with the whole thing pretty slickly.

So are you just unlucky with this as I've always had the impression that Honda engines are virtually 'bomb-proof', although I guess if it hasn't been maintained properly previously any engine could go?
