Re: '69 Seat 1500 Funebre (and other lonely hearse's)

Reminds me greatly of my Renault. Same color, too. Bodywork good, mechanical parts totally worn out and replacements made from cheese. Had a Super Minx that did the fuel thing, thankfully the fuel pump would drop the glass bowl and I could pick the crap out at the roadside, it also ate points no mat...

Re: 1951 Pontiac Chieftain

There would be much steepling of fingers and breath drawn in through teeth with a "Well there ain't no demand for that no more, is there?" style comment.

America has it's faults but I got what I needed, in a small town at 4:30 on a Friday afternoon.

Re: What did you do today?

It's no good teasing us with just gauges, we need to see the whole thing now... It's one of these: https://cdp.azureedge.net/products-private/prod/ae6a3031-358d-4b9d-9a2e-e2f01307c4ae/428582d3-b9a1-4081-8e01-6a0031d4a865/00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000000/a1f13d0e-b532-4369-acca-a42b014cc1b7/80fd...

Re: 1951 Pontiac Chieftain

Found some pictures of these things all taken apart.
There's not much room inside so it looks like welding brackets on externally is the way forward.
One of my neighbors does mig/tig welding so I may ask him and see what he thinks.

Re: 1951 Pontiac Chieftain

20190619_214120.jpg Had a little time tonight (after work was taken up by garden) so drilled the spot welds off the horns, as the brackets are at totally the wrong angle to fit to this car. 20190619_214958.jpg Filed the drilled sections flat with a bastard and dressed the edges back down smooth wit...

Re: 1951 Pontiac Chieftain

Just spoke with the heater valves guy. He says at this time, about a 2-week turnaround. Not bad at all. Just over a hundred bucks too, which is good for something with brand new seals in.
