There is one in there that fits the brake clevis. Win.

I think tonight will be a bit of cleaning and some rust treatment.

Re: Unparallel Renault 16 Happenings

Just to be bloody awkward the bleed nipples on the front calipers of my Renault are 9mm, really long and easy to get to. The rear cylinders are 7mm and set back in the crook of a large horse-shoe shaped chunk of cast iron (probably to silence the brakes, but in reality will just be used to store hea...

20190613_190025.jpg Using a large Persuader, I removed the brake pedal. 20190613_192052.jpg Someone had failed at the lubrication schedule. 20190613_202202.jpg Cleaned up the clevis pin, cleared the grease nipple. 20190613_200623.jpg Cleaned down and painted the brake pedal, rod arm and spring. Re: 1951 Pontiac Chieftain

Well, don't forget 49-55 were real boom years in the USA and manufacturers were still in the "making machinery good for the military effort" mindset. '56 on began to see a downturn in the economy, as that rather artificial boom began to collapse. 57-59 saw the real exciting designs occur b...

The clock in my Pontiac is made by Jaeger.

The gauges are AC though.

Re: 1951 Pontiac Chieftain

This car is from a different era. It reminds me more of the cars we had when I was growing up- 40's and 50's designs dragged on through to the 70's. For the most part, this car is designed so the parts that wear can be refurbished with regular tools, no particular machinery in a lot of cases because...

Re: 1951 Pontiac Chieftain

I surprised myself tonight. Didn't think to before but I offered that blue up against the paintwork. 20190612_200905.jpg That's not actually a bad color match for something off the shelf at Wal-Mart. 20190612_201008.jpg That's where the plate fits, held snug by the felt insulation. 20190612_202035.j...

Re: 1951 Pontiac Chieftain

In a hugely exciting installment, I bought 88¢ of bolts.

I also found, hiding in the chassis rail, a piece of metal specific to "H" VIN cars- clutch pedal blanking plate!
Cleaned and painted that up.

I pulled my back out last night so updates will be slow again.

Fiat Cinquecento - was designed for Lancia to be the Y10 replacement. https://ranwhenparkeddotnet.files.wordpress.com/2012/09/lancia-y10-turbo-2.jpg If you look at a Y10 then at a Cinq you'll see the family resemblance. https://static.goodwood.com/globalassets/.road--racing/columnists/dan/2016/may/f...
