Re: That awful colour MGB GT

I'm running HIF4, mixture setup is rather different and so no nuts to tighten up either. I think I found the cause of the rough running tonight. Turns out that the clip for the distributor had punched a hole in the cap. Not a massive hole but one big enough for oil and crap to get in. The bit that b...

Re: That awful colour MGB GT

Oh and she seems to be running a bit grumpy again this evening. Idle sounds and feels like a misfire - a lot more so than usual. Not sure if it's the sparking plugs getting coked up from running rich or the cheapy crappy distributor being crap with timing. Or one causing the other. I'll change the d...

Re: That awful colour MGB GT

Swapped it back over with the Boxster this evening. Looks like it will be down with me for at least the next two weeks. Then probably another swapsy. Things needed to be done: Put new second hand distributor in and set static timing, fit short shifter and, as I'll be going to some shows, give a bloo...

That's a shame, I'd let you have a spin in the Boxster at Chumley otherwise.

Re: That awful colour MGB GT

Funnily enough I was pondering about removing my oil cooler. It's not leaking, but it looks original and I don't fully trust it not to leak in the near future.

Re: Which cars have good/bad aircon?

On our honeymoon, we were driving this: Screenshot_20190630-000227_Photos.jpg With the roof down, air con on, in this temperature: Screenshot_20190630-000134_Photos.jpg Which works out as: Screenshot_20190630-000308_Photos.jpg The chiller worked very well, despite the intense heat. We set off from V...

Re: What did you do today?

The instrument panel on the Porsche is remarkably badly laid out and hard to read. It's the colouring too, all that red light reminds them of driving U-boats. It's awful at night to view a red dash, VW indulge in the same stupidity. I tend not to stare at a dash while driving at night. Quick glance...

32c when we set off midday. Unfortunately it's cooling off a bit tomorrow.

Luckily the car comes fitted with a flip flop holder
