Re: Another horsebox project

No hope for me then as I failed the old test. That said I think I'd be divorced if I bought one. Still think a small campervan would be nice though.

Anyway back on topic who's doing the conversion, a pro place or miss not keira knightly?

Re: Another horsebox project

Do you need a truck licence for something like this? Or does converting it mean a car licence is OK?

Re: What did you do today?

Oil change done on my mate car today. Of course we got soaked as although wet it started raining half way through. Had to take off a small bit of pointless plastic shield over what looked like a sub frame for the axle stands, of course the twat wouldn't go back on. Got two screws in so better than n...

Re: Cars what I own and occasionally touch

Much messing has happened today. Bonnet lock had a small bit of wire round the plastic bit to try and secure it and it was all refitted. It sort of works but I can't get the adjustment just right so it can be a bugger to open but it does open which is something. The clutch is another thing though. F...

Re: Cars what I own and occasionally touch

Further down on the release cable was this split. IMG_20191112_124515.jpg I say was as it's now completely snapped and the outer cover is separated. Was still working though. I do have a new cable but it looks a shit to thread through. While the bonnet is now up I managed to find out why the clutch ...

Re: Cars what I own and occasionally touch

Finally managed to get the bonnet open on the Frontera today. With the inside bonnet release being pulled I got a screwdriver on the catch and managed to force it enough. IMG_20191112_115701.jpg IMG_20191112_115752.jpg If you can see the plastic end of the cable had pulled through its retaining ring...

Re: Cars what I own and occasionally touch

It's definitely it electronic already as it was owned by two old biddies before.

Can't remember exactly what the Haynes said but the 5w30 I bought is OK for the car but a quick Google search says the thicker oil would be better hue to its age and mileage.

Re: Cars what I own and occasionally touch

OK know practically bugger all about oil but I always thought, or must've read it somewhere, that it was 5w30 for Fords. I'll have a look in the big book of lies to see if I've got it wrong. I know the ST definitely uses it so it won't go to waste. Last time I used damp start on a car it made it wor...

Re: Cars what I own and occasionally touch

Nearly every car I've had with that engine has hated the damp. What make me think about the ignition was that I'd never had any problems with the more modern version that are covered in electrical stuff. Think I'll start with all the normal replaceable stuff and then go from there. It might just be ...
