Budget tyres are landfill. I’ve got a set of Excellons on my 118d and they are shit. I buy part worn proper tyres. 5 or 6mm and a pair at a time. I bought a pair of 225/50x16 Goodyears with 6mm for £60 plus a tenner to fit and balance. I haven't found anywhere decent near me that sells part worns. ...

The Canadian Ford plant built lots of RHD US Fords. Newfoundland drove on the left after WW2 - around 1950.

The overfuelling is a strange one - I thought a 1979 Royale 2.8 would have a Solex 4A1 carb? Opels had Bosch L Jetronic.

You may need a new intercooler as well. Serious turbo failure fills them with oil and bits of shit. You can try washing it out with petrol or cheap thinners.
