Re: The Dark Wob Official American Car Thread

Anyway I fancy a change from my mk2 lwb transit as a work van for a while, whatever I get needs to be petrol because of the LEZ, what are Econoline tradesmans vans like? Remember this is going to be a used and abused v...

Re: Chadder's MGB, now 13 years off road.

Mechspec bought up container loads of MGs from as many dry states as they could find in the 80s. In fact I'm pretty sure at one point they actually bought a yard in the states. They do still rot though, I've seen Aussie ones looking ever so crispy. Rust proofing was minimal when new and there are bu...

Global cooling is the new horror, the glaciers will advance to just south of Bradford, worse the build up of ice at the poles will cause a drop in sea level enabling humans to once again walk to France.

Re: Chadder's MGB, now 13 years off road.

Bloody hell back in the 80s my dad used to do a full body restoration on an MG including floors, castle rails inner outer and Center sills and wings and paint in 2 months and that would be lead loading rather than filler!

How much is a new shell these days?

Re: Two wheels good.

You really should have a ride as a pillion, as she appears to have a sensible bike you won't be forced to perch on a seat with the comfort of a piece of plywood whilst having your knees round your ears and your arse hanging out! You might find you like it, my other half does, so much so she fell asl...

Re: Squire's voitures

Mopar rather than a Cadillac- but I am slightly biased. 500 miles was 40s scheduling - I can't believe they were still selling stuff that late requiring attention so often, I would have assumed as executive and lord of the manor type transport they would frequently clock up high milages relatively q...

Re: Squire's voitures

1000 miles regrease interval seems a bit much, can you fit a one shot type system with a pump in the cab like you would have fitted on older wagons etc, hoses run to each nipple and apply a dollop whenever the handle is squeezed?

Any advice on the American forums? I can't imagine it not being removable as a lump but who knows what order it was assembled in.
