Re: Reliable Honda Engine: a spectral fleet thread

Not sure why you'd want a cheap XJ40 when the XJ6 is a very similar car really and still at the bargain end of the spectrum. What happened to the forum bike red one that I had? N118 MFV - was it Eddie Honda who owns it ATM?

I guess you are within 50 miles of me, as this came up on my general Classic Car within 50 miles eBay search.

Re: That awful colour MGB GT

Those track rod ends are a good example looking on Moss. Two options, OE: https://www.moss-europe.co.uk/track-rod-end-gsj168.html?assoc=112467 Aftermarket: https://www.moss-europe.co.uk/track-rod-end-aftermarket-gsj168z.html?assoc=112468 I guess if you only do 250 miles a year in your MGB and take a...

Re: That awful colour MGB GT

Where were those track rod ends from? I've mostly shopped between Moss/Midland Sport Classics/eBay sellers. Some stuff has been identical between retailers, others different. Generally I've found Midland Sport Classics stuff that is different, to be a bit cheaper but a fair bit crappier in quality. ...

Where is it? Is it in the Bath and West showground? (that is an hour's drive from Bristol and Bath...!)

Re: That 1972 Austin 1100

Got these brackets finished tonight. Cut a new top piece out to fix my mistake and made a mirror version of the bracket this time. The other side I chose the one that came out better. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20190621/ff6e3fccbb23e1431d106a9546f3f061.jpg Then got on with welding it together....

Those Ioniqs seem to be becoming very popular with the cabbies around Bristol. Is that 75.6mpg on petrol?

Re: Reliable Honda Engine: a spectral fleet thread

Going back to the original question, what should Ghosty get? I'm biased but I reckon he needs to try a 60/70s classic. If the budget doesn't stretch, then the next best thing (which actually is better) and a MX5. Especially while the weather should be getting better soon. All of which are very diffe...

Re: Reliable Honda Engine: a spectral fleet thread

Both auto boxes and manual boxes are great if they're good ones. Both are shit if they're crap ones. Like anything. Modern computer controlled autoboxes are especially smooth and excellent, but also have the ability to be super quick and efficient too. Just too many garages think of them as complica...

Re: That 1972 Austin 1100

Got on with making some new brackets today. Started out by making rough templates of the original. Then transferred them to metal and cut them out. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20190619/b9646025935e3b6811a5f3b77049f4e5.jpg I forgot to take pictures of the intermediate steps, but it's me basicall...
