Re: What did you do today?
I've had mixed experience with Kwik-Fitup. Took my first Granada in for one of their "Winter Checks" which is asking for a buttfucking really but they didn't disappoint with a huge list of "advised work". I got them to change the pads but leave the fucking discs alone and took it...

Re: The 'modern cars are shit' thread.
Nah, "Soul" is OK. It means a bit more than character, maybe a feeling of connection with the car's design intent, the folk that built it or summat. I get it from some cars and not others and very seldom anything modern (i.e. 21st century). Cars acquire character but are made with "so...

Re: The 'modern cars are shit' thread.
"Soul" is an almost unidentifiable (maybe just un-explainable) thing though. I feel my Focus does not have it but my Mk5 Fiesta did. After my Mk2 Granadas (which did) I felt my Mk3 didn't - maybe it would feel different 25 years on.

Re: Building the Leg End. The Old Jag thread.
Average age of all scrapped car now in the UK is apparently 13.9yrs... Where those old Jags really that bad for longevity in hindsight? No. It is just different economics in play now....Structural corrosion vs. electronic failure. It all adds up to economic considerations, I suppose. Thing is back ...

Re: The Astraslag TDW Slut Car Thread
They're unkillable. Mrs SiC friend split up from her partner who screwed her over financially (probably about 10yrs ago now). Anyway she had a Astra G 1.6 16v that she bought cheap to replace a Smart ForTwo on finance while she tried to pay down her debts. She did have a lot of teething trouble to ...

Re: Claim's Cabbies Corner. NYE Fun And Games.
It's nice to be nice.....Never done cabs but I've had a few jobs where supposed "nutcases" were to be encountered and I never had a problem, personally, with any of them.

Re: EBay Finds
I presume there to be at least a £90,000 price premium for the "S" over a normal 150 then, give or take... Sod buying anything like that without knowing it for a very long time.

Re: Found pics
I think the first actual Dolomite (the 1850) was delayed for almost a year by strikes. Triumph strung production out for 15 years all told, from the 1300 original to the end of "all called Dolomites now" admittedly with the many drivetrain/doorage/boot length variations. They were still re...
