Re: The UK's fascination with convertible cars

I hate the damn things. Rented a few in California: too hot to want to be outside. Ridden in the back seat of 4 seater soft tops: a vile experience of wind noise and buffetting. Owned one of these IMG_0392.jpeg (Not this one, which hasn’t moved for 12 years -why do people hang on to broken shit f.f....

Re: That awful colour MGB GT

Sure does look wantable in those photos. It is a boring thing to say but “if I had a building to keep this in…” Trouble is when I look at the pictures I catch myself thinking - I could just remove this, delete that, change those, fit better, move those, fill that… Which would be a shame because this...

Re: EBay Finds

The only one of these I recall ever seeing is Uncle Frank’s. I was dissapointed not to get a ride because it was broken, just like his £700 DB5 that we tried later that day. The paint looks a bit “Humbrol enamel” but the ad says it is in daily use which makes the £7k seem a bargain compared to the u...

Re: What did you do today?

This is page 1488. Which gives me flashbacks to the days when RS232 ruled the data-highways.

Re: What did you do today?

I'd rather be dealing with a rusty, stuck ABS sensor than a chuffing, leaking and sloppy pushrod engine. Plus all this extra stuff rarely give problems in reality. When it does, it invariably is easy to fix. In my over 20yrs motoring and 35+ cars I've owned, I've never had to replace an ABS sensor....
