Re: What did you do today?

50% there with the fuel filter fuck up after a trip to the excellent Worsboro' Motor Spares at Stairfoot. Amusingly the other customer when I walked in had the same problems with these quick release connectors. IMG_20211006_161939.jpg Before you ask, that little red thing on the left is the cover fo...

Re: What did you do today?

Thought I'd continue with the Matiz today. Oil, filters etc, easy job, couple of hours. FFS, started with the fuel filter. IMG_20211004_114316.jpg That looks old. So I removed the clips, which obviously broke. Then trying to remove the filter this happened, IMG_20211004_140637.jpg Yes, it was clearl...

Re: What did you do today?

IMG_20211003_112428.jpg So today I continued with the Matiz fettling. After getting my Mrs to help with the brake bleeding ("it's the right hand peddle you want me to press" !! FFS) we now have "working"rear brakes. After that, I adjusted the bonnet catch (the bonnets bent just ...

Re: What did you do today?

Today I continued with the rear brakes on the Matiz. Nothing really unexpected, well... IMG_20210925_110123.jpg yes, that's a nail not a split pin holding the hubnut in. I ordered a pair of new rear wheel cylinders, the n/s was showing signs of death.. IMG_20210925_115153.jpg we're steadily getting ...

Re: What did you do today?

So today I decided to fix the broken brackets on the air box on the Matiz. As expected, there was no filter in it, but somebody has drilled a load of extra holes in the top.

Re: What did you do today?

Been foooking about with the rear brakes on the Matiz. Amazingly, the nut on the main brake pipe to flexible on the o/s/r actually undid. So why didn't the knob that foooked the system up not simply replace the flexible, wheel cylinder and shoes (about £40) rather than creating a death trap ?. Even ...

Re: What did you do today?

Bloody hell BMH, that looks, er, 'interesting!' Mind you, many years ago (and in Scunthorpe so says it all really) I used to get a lift to Hull with a bloke with a rotten as fuck Cortina, he had the rear brakes clamped off with mole grips as there was a leak somewhere, didn't slow him down at all (...

Re: What did you do today?

"You've got to love honest sellers." Not 100% the seller did it. He's a mate at a garage who fixes things (cheap), £10 to re-gass the air con allegedly. When we got to the sellers house he was out shopping in it, and turned back up with wife, sister in law and his kiddie (less than 12 mont...

Re: What did you do today?

Sat and looked at the (lack off) space in front of the garage and thought, "yep, I bought a Matiz yesterday that appears* to have no o/s/r brakes". Oops were you aware of the braking situation before attempting to stop? Stopped OK on test drive, just handbrake didn't engage " spring ...
