Re: Reliable Honda Engine: a project thread

Late Monday night the store credit was authorised, via a code I was emailed, for the precise amount to buy twelve supposedly correct clutches, and ship them to myself via FedEx, no less. I suspect this is as I had the previous kit FedExed as it was the cheapest way, but even so that's bloody decent ...

Re: Orange rapportering - F133 and other shit

The Volvo has piqued my interest (surprise!). If it's not gone, I can swing it and it doesn't bother you, I might tidy it up, run it a bit and sell it on into enthusiast circles. Looks a good'un, and the MOT history suggests low miles and decent enough condition.

Re: OMG GGG TNT - Only for The Climate™ Improvement®

Nice trip. Reminds me of the Shite in the Lakes meet a couple of years ago where I first met Hooli and John F, we just had a day driving perusing Lakeland Motor Museum and driving about the Lake District, improving the climate tenfold. Especially as at the end of the day some hhhhhh bloke in an Isuz...

Re: The Parallel Universe of R16 Ownership

For the next French autojumble you should just pre-emptively remove it altogether.

Re: The Parallel Universe of R16 Ownership

That site is a web design/accessibility nightmare, but indeed that's something to be proud of.

Re: Reliable Honda Engine: a project thread

According to Rock's research I need 12 clutches @ £3.24. This sounds about right as I know there was a revision to the ML4A gearbox for fifth gen Civics that added a third shaft IIRC - that'd necessitate a fourth clutch pack (I wonder if these are the larger clutches I was sent?). I do have manuals ...

Re: What did you do today?

I'm starting to amass useful, decent quality tools at an alarming rate. This week alone I've gained a 2.25 ton high lift jack, a corded 3/4" drive impact gun, and I've discovered engine cranes aren't that expensive either (in relative terms). Either by dropping by chez Ghosty or me loading up m...

Re: Reliable Honda Engine: a project thread

Rock Auto's response was 'we've looked into the problem and the wrong parts are listed in the kit, here's $80 in store credit so you can order and ship the right ones'. Now that's customer service. It won't get delivered for a good while now being the May bank holiday, but if it means a better gearb...

Re: Reliable Honda Engine: a project thread

I used to think Binis were cramped too but the mother's has a panoramic sunroof that makes it a lot airier. It felt like a lot bigger car than it is, though. However the windows are too high up and the windscreen is tiny, quite a bit is obscured by the rear view mirror too. Seats are nothing special...
