Re: Found pics
Some photos what I took with a manky camera back in about 1976. Obviously it was an American car meet, think it was the Can-Am club and the venue the Post House Hotel somewhere near Birmingham.
1959 Oldsmobile 88 Coupe- think the guy had owned it for years, don't like the Webasto roof though Poor 1961 Cadillac subjected to an over enthusiastic owner's 'improvements' 1961 Pontiac Catalina coupe aka 'bubbletop' 1957 Pontiac, still owned by the same guy but now with considerably more rot

Re: Found pics
That 61 Caddy in 1976 would be the equivalent of this, today.
That Oldsmobile with the big windows and pillarless sides must have had the structural rigidity of a shoe box when they cut the hole in the roof.
Just shows everything was better in the olden days , even cars matured quicker and better. That Oldsmobile with the big windows and pillarless sides must have had the structural rigidity of a shoe box when they cut the hole in the roof.

Re: Found pics
My RHD 58 Belair sedan suffered the same indignity when I sold it to a knob, he promptly had it resprayed badly and a hole cut in the roof. It looked awful. I seem to recall that the Olds owner was featured in a Sunday paper back in the 70's, I did see it again and it was a really nice car but haven't seen it for year, hope it's still around somewhere.

Doesn't look that different from last time I was there.
