Best Seam sealer

Post by LynehamHerc »

It looks like the MGB's welding is finished and it will be back with me fairly soon to do the paint.

What seam sealer do you guys recommend?

Thanks

I used Tiger seal but it shrank. I have some old tins of Dum Dum in reserve. The car guys in the US seem to have a good range of products at their disposal.

Isn't silicon sealant really bad to use on a car? I thought it did weird stuff to paint.

You also shouldn't use it on any electronics if you don't want them to rust up inside.

I just go into the motorfactors and ask for a tube of seem sealer or a tin of the brush on stuff, I don't think tiger seal is the correct stuff for doing this with but i'm happy to admit i'm not sure.

I have tried various brands but Poundland roof and gutted seal is as good as any. I've done some welding repairs and finished off with this to give a factory finish. Two years later it still looks good.

The factory finish probably looked good after two years too.
