Talk about your cars etc here. Keep it sort of sensible and on topic please.

brandersnatch wrote: Wed Jul 21, 2021 7:49 pm Can’t help thinking that if it’s still reliable and not costing you too much you should keep it. Better the devil you know and all that.
The other side of the coin is that you’re used to the fixed cost of the repayment so replace it with a new one.
Also downgrade? Huh?
I know that was no use at all. My work here is done.
The downgrade option will be into an Octavia. I'm considering this as due to whippet and JRT ownership that's happened since Ioniq purchase, our only hope of a holiday is towing a caravan and sadly the Hyundai has a towing limit of 1000kg.
Why?

Lots of places accept dogs, Hoseasons for one and some of their sites are fine.
And if you don't mind an element of self catering and no television I can recommend the Landmark Trust, most of their places are dog friendly. I even took Bob the dog to a couple of them and he didn't destroy them.

You can get caravans that weigh less than 1000kg, but most are either really expensive, or would be a bit like holidaying in a Portaloo.

It's white, hybrid and three years old. It'll end up exported to Yorkshire where it'll get a black bonnet and boot and work the ranks there.

If its not been MOT'd yet (are taxi rules different?) then I'd get rid of it before its last MOT. Give somebody a chance of a hair cut.

Sadly, since 2009 our MOT status has been logged on the DVLA computer.

For private cars, only at the 3 year mark. Are you saying private hire cars get MOT'd from new?

Can I ask why you are the only taxi driver who's speedo doesn't need correcting every 6 months?
