I scored very low on the autie test. I’m cheerful, happy, confident, like meeting new people, chatty and largely sociable. What the fuck am I doing on this forum?

There was a guy I worked with at Delta (aka Steve "Dyson" - the was no loss of suction when it came to hoovering up work) - He did get quizzed by the Inland Revenue and for the total value of cheques they'd determined he'd banked from non-account jobs, they also determined he'd made the same again in cash.

Like me taxi driving tips, I declared them all*

"Don't take the piss out of the taxman, he'll bum you for it. Never tax the piss out of the VAT-man, he'll ride you raw." - sort of the same thing now since the IR and HMCE merged.
Taking a cheque for a cash job? There’s his first mistake. It’s all a bit academic to me now that I’m no longer self employed.

Non account could be cash/cheque.

His first mistake was not keeping adequate records at the time. His second was answering the probing questions wrong. He should've said he lived with his ma and lived like a monk.

It's like when they spy on a takeaway to see how many come and go on a Friday night and the vendor trying to claim it was dead quiet.

Opposite the house I lived in three houses ago if you see what I mean there was a Chinese restaurant. Very expensive. Always empty, I mean always. I never saw anyone in there. I always wondered what type of Chinese laundry it was.

I may have mentioned this before but there's a car sales place near me that seems to have a very odd pricing structure. Some of their stuff hangs around for ages.
Obviously I can't prove anything, but I suspect it might be a front for something entirely different, of a money laundering operation.

My COVID testing job is the first PAYE I’ve done in 27 years. I’ll soon be at the £12k threshold where they’ll start stopping me tax. I might well jack it in for another 27.

Tell them you've decided to identify as a woman and give them your other half details to use her 12k up?

A 1980 private hire tariff sheet from what is now the largest firm in Liverpool.

How much was a gallon of four star back then?

Remember, a Mk3/4 Cortina 1.6 did about 27mpg around the doors.
