I know I'm working flat out at the minute doing 6 days per week and most of my mates are. I think we're all taking the opportunity to graft while the work is there and personal freedom isn't.

Same down here, in a horrific turn off fate the local transport guy is selling his Mk5 recovery and has purchased a Mk6.

I did a bit of work on both Bentley's today. The red one was suffering with the interior lights sticking on and it also did something daft with it's coolant last week. I started by swapping the interior light ecu's as that was an easy place to start. It wasn't that so it had to be one of the door switches. As the black one had a central locking fault on the drivers door I started with taking that one apart to find the switches. The central locking fault was a broken wire but as there was no clue as to where it was supposed to go I had to take the panel off the red car as well. After a bit of messing I have fixed the central locking on the black one and found the faulty switch on the red one. I will order a switch for it and do that before the mot at the end of the month. The cooling problem seems to of sorted itself out so I think it must of been a stuck thermostat. I also pulled the seat ecu out of the black one to get it checked over next week. It might be a motor fault on the seat though as it looks pretty good inside the ecu. After driving them both back to back I think I will fit new accumalators to the red one as the brakes feel a bit firmer on the black one with the new accumalators. All in all a fairly successful day.

I decided to have a look at the faulty interior lights on the red Bentley Friday afternoon as I was quiet. Fucking bastard job I wish I had ignored it as I didn't get it finished until Saturday and probably about 6 hours messing with the bastard. These bastards have a little micro switch held onto the door lock with 2 small nuts and bolts.

Fucking 60 quid they are but I found a Golf boot switch was easily modified to do the job. Any way that was the easy part the difficult bit was getting the lock back in after I took it out to replace the switch. I ended up removing the outer handle and the central locking mechanism just to get at the bastard and refit the rod from the door handle button. I also had to move the window motor so I could get my arm in there. Getting the last little nut back on that handle took over an hour what with dropping the nut and having to find replacements twice . The picture makes it look easy but trust me it wasn't. At least I now have all the interior lights coming on when they should and more importantly going off again when the doors are closed.

There was a bloke supposed to come and view the black one last week but he never turned up. I will let the ad run then try again at the end of April when lockdown gets lifted. Hopefully that will get the black one sold so I can pay back the money borrowed to buy the Corvette.
