This one is the earlier car with the engine that doesn't eat head gaskets. As I am sure I have pointed out before I have A666 and K666HGF plates on my cars. It started with a hearse and then they just stuck with me. I will really tempt fate when I put the K one on the range rover

now that would be a step too far. The P38 was sitting outside my workshop this morning after the seller delivered it. It started straight up and the suspension had stayed up so it is looking better than the last P38 I had which didn't even make it home when I bought it. I will start a thread on it if I get time to tinker with it.

The P38 is diesel so the economical version. The seller told me he gets about 20 to the gallon out of it which is better than the Bentley at 12.

It'd have to be very fit and heavily mapped to get that mpg. The diesels were worked hard and featured inefficient non-direct heads.
