That awful colour MGB GT

Talk about your cars etc here. Keep it sort of sensible and on topic please.

Yeah but did it a month after the original email asking for it. The woman didn't get back to me for confirmation though. I have got an email since saying what's happening to attend. Says to bring the original tickets (I booked mine for April) with you on the day.

I imagine they needed which car was going for gov tracking or something.

Or remove it and let it dangle from the pipe, the cylinder fills up and bleeds fairly well that way. It's just a pain to do

For vacuum wipers; things like bad pcv valves, brake boosters etc can also have a similar effect. Vacuum leaks in general.
On an MGB?

I'm confused.

On my car, which has similar levels of complexity to the B, a modest vacuum leak from a component presumed good caused all manner of hard to diagnose problems.

The B doesn't have a pump but it does have moderate scope to have vacuum leaks.

Understand now.

Intake leaks cause problems on any car.

Do they? Mine doesn't and don't think ever has.

I have seen a few with them but mostly Yank spec.

My Landcrab had one so I thought the later B's would have done....It was a bit of a mongrel so could have had anything done to it.

In sure there are some experts on here that could say exactly what was when.

My MGB has the tappet chest breather attached to the manifold through the mesh canister setup iirc.

Up to 1969 had a PCV. Then on was a closed system.
