Stroppy Old Tart, or the story of a Triumph Bonneville

Talk about your cars etc here. Keep it sort of sensible and on topic please.

It is short for Amalgamated Carburettors.

Drums do look better.

I went for a later one with the wrong gear change as I'd only just passed my test & thought swapping feet would be more complicated than it is.

I still blame foot-swapping buggery for the accident I had on my Triumph - I also had a YDS7 and Suzuki Invader at the time.

In fairness, I should have been able to swap with ease....I don't have any trouble with cars being differently laid out, although I can't see me taking to a Model T or centre throttles too easily now.

When I eventually rode a proper side gearbox it was much easier to adjust than I expected. It was a 1947 Velocette KSS, bloody fantastic bike.

The proper location for the gear lever on a proper thinking gentleman's motor velocipede is on the side of the tank.

Also any fule knowe that the clutch should be on the left foot. :P

Painted, swing arm done too but you can't see it here. Brush painted smooth rite over old powdercoat so it's not perfect but it's good enough for a bike I plan to use not just look at.
