I thought air/coil depended on the spec? were they all air?

I thought D2s all had rear air bags unless they'd been converted, but you've got me wondering now.

Rear air springs were for factory 7 seaters. And don't assume rear air springs means they come with that bloody awful ACE kit. I managed to get a TD5 with air but without ACE but it took ages.

This one doesn't have any sign of air suspension being fitted and has normal anti roll bars. It doesn't have the 3 amigo's either even though one of the ABS fault codes is the shuttle valve. The only light that stays on is the ABS light the green hill descent light comes on with ignition and goes off again. On the V5 it is described as a Discovery S so no idea what spec it should have. It has got air con though but so far I haven't tried it to see if it works. I have got a busy few days but maybe Thursday or Friday I will have a proper look over it.

My GS 5 seater had air and ACE and so did a friend's commercial, so I assumed they all did. Google says only the base spec was on coils so I've learned something new.

Hopefully the disco is now all sorted and ready to start earning it's keep. 4 new tyres a new exhaust and a replacement dash as the printed circuit board had been got at to turn off the other warning lights. I took the shuttle valve out of the ABS pump and it had a faulty switch so fitted a new one only to still have the 3 amigos. 10 mins with a soldering iron and it has been rewired and all works as it should. Then the battery died which wasn't that surprising as some moron had drilled a hole in the side of the battery.

WTF? Mind you, it shouldn't surprise a previous owner drilled a hole in the side of the battery.

Even more annoying is I didn't notice it at first so managed to drip acid on my trousers. Again it was the next day when they fell apart that I figured out what happened. Bloody battery acid, next job will be sorting out the heater as there is no hot air coming through even though according to the gauge it is getting up to temp and behaves itself. I am sure there are a few more bodges that will come to light.

The heaters take ages and ages to warm up. I don't think its a fault, more like thermal efficiency of the combustion. I used to get to the tyne tunnel in mine just in time for the temp gauge to move off the bottom, then had to switch the blower off for the fumes, exit the tunnel, put the heater on and watch as the temp gauge dips down again. Its done this since new-ish and 20k miles.
