I seem to of done something stupid yet again

Talk about your cars etc here. Keep it sort of sensible and on topic please.

I am selling them as a private individual as they are part of my private collection or that is the way I see it. It is supposed to be a proper type auction and not covered by the sale of goods act. I am a little concerned about the transfer of funds as both buyer and seller have to agree before they release the funds. I won't be releasing any cars without funds that's for sure. They seem to be pretty helpful so far but we will see. The Corvette buyer still hasn't been in touch even though they say he has deposited the funds.

Has the buyer seen the car in person, do you know, or was it an online bidder?

As far as I know they haven't, they didn't even ask any questions. According to all the waffle I read these are more like proper auctions like BCA etc rather than the ebay auction. They are legally binding and exempt from distance selling regulations. How well that would stand up in court is yet to be tested. I think with classics you can't really expect a 6 month warranty and the 30 day return for any reason cover. At the moment I am just hoping they turn up agree that it has been transferred and I get my money.

Well that was a surprise to tonight the Bentley sold for 6k which nets me 5400 and a profit. The DKW stuck at 5 k so didn't sell. The surprise of the evening was the fiat hit the 5600 reserve. I am losing a few hundred quid but I never thought it would do that. The corvette buyer has been in touch and it will be collected next week. He is also happy to release the funds when it is collected. Fingers crossed these sales all go through with no hassle.

That sounds a lot better so far than I was expecting, considering all the lack of response you've had selling them previously.

Indeed, I'd love one but suspect like most things I've missed my chance. It's the only car that'd get me out of the XJR.

I am making money on the Bentley the only loser is the Fiat and nothing like I expected to lose. I thought it would be lucky to make anything over 3k. The Dkw didn't sell but I am not too upset about that and now I have the money to fix it properly. I will also throw a few quid at the red Bentley to sort new tyres and a couple of bits of bodywork need tidying. Once everything is paid off I will see what is left to invest in new toys. The Gamma will hopefully move on at a tiny profit as well.

Good news! Can we expect to see a set of expansion pipes on the DKW in the near future then?

I need to make it reliable and the 360 quid I spent on having the fuel tank repaired just made things worse so a new tank I think to start with. Then I can at least use it and not worry.
