I thought it was the gearboxes that were shit in them?
A mate had one new and I'm sure it fucked around 60k.

I'd keep that Audi over the Jag, any day.
Jags of that age are worth nothing.
I'm not an Audi fan but, have fond memories of my mate taking his old mans V8, A8, to Cornwall for a holiday and, going to a free party on a traveller site in it.
When we went to leave, I was with another mate, Boydie, in his 2.8, MK3 Capri, waiting at the exit of the site for about 10 minutes.
We went back down to see where the others were and, the travellers had put in a roadblock made of fire.
They'd decided that they wanted more money.
My mate, Allan Cave, (he was "Techno" in Grange Hill by the way) had thrown a stick for one of the dogs on site and it went straight through a caravan window!
We'd paid them some dosh to cover it but, when they saw Bob (RIP) in his dad's A8, they thought we were rich as well. Not so.
We gave them about another £40 and they moved the flaming roadblock.

Ahh, youth...

I've cancelled the deal with the jag and I feel prooer bad about it. We sent each other tons of messages etc and it's been a goer for a while.
My fucking insurance want another £200 to swap over which mean I'd be paying nearly £700. They added £280 onto the lexus insurance.
Then he's having it valeted and there's rear wheel arch starting to go frilly. I know these jags like to rot like fuck especially the subframes. If he were nearer and I could check it over it wouldn't be so bad but two hundred miles to come away empty handed is a bit much.
I'd be taking a rather large hit on the audi too. It's standing me getting on for 3k.
I wish I'd just kept my mx5 although with the rain we've had lately and the fact it was kept outside, it would only be a matter of time before the rust set back in.
I am gonna have to pay £340 for a fucking indicator though. Where the fuck is Eddie and his magic fingers?

£340? About what the MX5 specialists charge for a sill replacement each side!

I never understood why you sold a fun car for a large barge. Yes it's a V8 and a good one at that, but more of a wafety wagon than a fun wagon.

Why not keep an eye out for a MGTF or MK2 MX5? Not many around this time of year but a deal usually can be had on the ones around.

I was just bored. I've had four mx5s an an mgf. I just like trying different cars out and I've never owned big cars before. I've never been shafted so hard by an insurance company before. It's usually £25 to swap which covers the paperwork. Lancaster are addded to my list and can fuck right off.

My solution to that is getting a car storage bay somewhere and stash away when I get bored of a particular car. Then it's replacement I swap around when bored of that.

Perhaps if you've done MGF and MX5, what about a Z4/Boxster/etc?
