Anyway, do the resistance check. Should decrease as temp increases..

Grand, sounds simple. I'll get a multimeter from Screwfix just up the road from me.

Auto ranging is a handy thing to have.

Flip I forgot I started a thread on here.

The Cavalier passed its MOT in April. I went in all guns blazing for the emissions. New dizzy cap, rotor arm, super unleaded, Cataclean and a stiff drive up the motorway before the test.

I asked the tester would he mind sticking it straight on the emissions check while the car was hot. Sadly it still failed but helpfully he quickly pinpointed a duff o2 sensor.

So from a fairly chunky fail list to a pass with just one advisory I something I'm quite proud of. I fixed the oil leak by tightening the sump plug.

I've been using it and it's driving well. The throttle did stick on at one point but the cable had stuck inside the sheath and was easily sorted with a new grommet fashioned from windscreen washer hose and 2 cable ties. Idle is still a little lumpy but it hasn't caused any non driving issues so I've filed that under TADT.

It polished up well too.

The 75 and Audi continue to be enjoyable too and the Mini is going OK too. May need a subframe.

Redyed the Audi hood and waterproofed it with some Fabisil gold.

I had one as a company car, K659MMD, a 1.7TD GLS.
It was a good cruiser and family car.

It should have been a Rover 820Si but I pissed off my boss, the Finance Director, by disagreeing with him when he was talking bollocks. Being more qualified than him didn't help the situation either.

When he was moved on , to Sri Lanka, I then got one of the first Ford Galaxies, brilliant for a growing family and UK holidays despite bits regularly falling off.

I think you maybe pissed him off less than you think, the Cavalier would be my choice!

No, he was definitely pissed off with me as he froze my salary as well whilst he got a 14k bonus, in 1992.

At the time there was no competition between the two, now there might be.

Now all welded up. Looks a bit dog shit but it's better than it was! Frost blue paint is in the post.

I know what I need to do next time. I also think I'll just need to live with the rubbish wire feed on my MIG welder, budget hobby ones TADTS.
