What sort of lunatic pulls something like that down? The land beneath it must be worth a fortune.

Thank you. Winnie, the older male is the best!!! Poppy (the smaller one) is still in the ‘bringing you your shoes’ puppy mode - not always in one piece!

I can’t believe it. I saw a Facebook post of it and people saying ‘now we can have something beautiful built there’.
I think in the future, the loss of an iconic building (which admittedly isn’t to everyone’s taste), with such close ties to the Minneapolis music scene, is going to be considered a cultural loss.

Edit:I just checked. At the peak, the property tax was $90k a year!!!

One the plus side, I finished the Thursday Murder Club. The boss lady is going to read it next.
It was good but not quite the same as Tom Sharpe as suggested by the book cover. Ancestral Vices by Tom Sharpe is brilliant!

It's many years since I've read my Tom Sharpe books.
Thanks for reminding me about them, all I need to do now is find where I put them.

If you know any similar authors to Tom Sharpe, I’m all ears!

Really enjoyed reading (in my late teens) and more recently rereading his books. Even my US wife enjoyed them (though did have a few questions about colloquialisms and some of the odd practices - poor sheltered lamb thought some of it was just a British thing).

None spring to mind but I'll have a search when I'm looking for my Tom Sharpe ones.

Well I found my Tom Sharpe ones but I don't seem to have anything similar, just Spike Milligan, Ronnie Barker, Billy Connolly etc..
Sorry.

SpikeMilligan - now that’s someone I haven’t read for 30+ years.
Haven’t tried any Ronnie Barker. Result!
Thank you!

I remember the name of that from years ago.
Thanks I’ll grab a copy and read it again.

I still have my childhood copy of his ‘Silly verses for kids’ including the dog chewed corner!
