building an Exocet kit car - lockdown 1 project creeps into lockdown 2

Talk about your cars etc here. Keep it sort of sensible and on topic please.

Have they mentioned what the perfomance would be like with the dramatic weight loss? I wonder what the 0-60 will be.

target weight is about 600kg, the donor mx5 is around 1050kg so a significant reduction, should hopefully go like the clappers - I look forward to finding out :)

I had to do a "deer test" in the Pontiac the other day as some dozy bint pulled her pickup truck out into my lane right in front of me.
Had to swerve round then rapidly back into my lane to avoid oncoming traffic, loaded 4 up too in the rain.

If I can manage that you should just be able to drive underneath the deer.

which took a fair bit of fettling, the clearance was a bit too tight here at the upper wishbone - time for a tweak with the angry grinder

Pisser with those wheels. Will the alloys off your mx5 fit?

Not sure, but I suspect they will rub too - I’ll give them a try and see

rear brakes and mudguard brackets fitted - minor adjustment with the grinder and a threaded hole needed tapping but all went well and another job can be ticked off :)

oh, and the steelies don't fit this end either :(

I didn't check the mx5 alloys as it was chucking it down - I'll have a go later on today

I can't see why you couldn't paint it, it might need a fancy primer though?
