Are you referring to the crashed one? Theres certainly nothing miserable about the surroundings in the photo of the van and Peugeot. Except for timewasting wankers on facebook

How hard would it be to fit the clocks from an up market escort with the rev counter in? I reckon they'll be prewired and the rev counter would work.

I'm not sure. It would be hard enough finding a set of clock let alone a diesel set. A lot of diesels were either pov spec or turbo diesel. The turbo diesel had more electronics on it too. Mine has an ecu but fuck knows why.

On petrol mk3 & 4 escrotes there was one wire to change behind the clocks - the perm 12v for the clock had to be connected to the coil for the rev counter. Never touched one that'd got the devil's fuel though.

If I recall, the rev counter takes a feed pulse from alternator. I've done a bit of researching about the ecu too and from what I can see it is for immobiliser which is easily bypassed anyway and the egr valve which it doesnt have. Or any other sensors for that matter.

Alternator makes sense with diesel, pretty sure that was how it worked in my LR years ago.
