Re: Van updates.
I'll have you know the second one is a Peugeot partner. 54 plate 1.9d so same engine but a year newer. Lower trim level though so doesn't have overhead storage, central locking or electric windows. 10 months mot though. Plan is to put my dented wing on it and have that one straight wing, swap mirrors over as mine have damage on them then get it running and sell it on.

Re: Van updates.
Now this van is a non runner. Chap said it ran out of diesel then wouldn't start at all. Seeing as it has 10 month ticket I believe it would be rather rude of me to scrap it if its just am air lock? Also he believes the alternator is shot. Not much testing I can do if it doesn't run. Car take back have offered 250 quid but even as a tatty runner in need of an alternator I would have thought it should fetch maybe 400 on the market.

Re: Van updates.
Update. Put jump leads on it and had a lit of sparks. Thought right there's a drain here somewhere. Che ked ignition off and reconnected jump leads. A few sparks but nothing major. Turned key, lights came on dash but no starter. Jump leads also red hot. It's nut worth me delving deeper into it to be honest. Can get 251 on car take back. I paid 240 and I'm taking its wing, mirrors, dab stereo, wheel trims, ply lining and other oddments then scrapping it. May try Facebook at 300 quid because if 10 months ticket but that means dealing with nobbers.

Re: Van updates.
Including costs of fetching it it owes 255. I've acquired a half tank of diesel, stereo and a ladder rack too. Originally wanted wing but I've since found it's rotten on the other van so it's not worth swapping a dented wing for a rotten one. Profit of 40 quid plus some free parts are always handy though.

Re: Van updates.
Can you get to the alternator easily and disconnect the cable to the battery? It sounds very much like the alternator diodes have gone short circuit, same as happened to my V50 earlier this year? That's be a cheap fix and may well put a few hundred quid on it so be worth doing.bub2006 wrote: ↑Mon Aug 09, 2021 11:14 am Update. Put jump leads on it and had a lit of sparks.
