That takes me right back to my Mk3/4 Escort owning days!bub2006 wrote: ↑Sat Dec 26, 2020 4:18 pm I believe it's now coming through the battery tray. It didnt leak before I swapped battery and cleaned all the detritus out of there. It's not major but something I'd like to rectify. Probably will put some rust treatment around the battery tray and some sealant of some description. Theres no holes visible but it may be just a pin hole or 2.

My other van had a paddling pool in the foot well, used to get about an inch deep front to back. This is just a dribble luckily

Thompson's water seal and the thinking behind it is a load of codswallop. Must have done some irrepairable damage to buildings over the years.

I look after a rental that could really do with doing with the stuff. Random patch of damp at about 6ft up the wall, the bloke who built it used thermalite blocks for the inner and outer skin which are like sponges even when rendered over.
Mind have seen worse when they've used then below damp course!

It does yes. Good job really as last battery would have arced out.
Today I have been doing some fettling. Picked up three bar roof rack the other day,a passenger headlight and bought some spotlights. I first put the spotlights on the front roof bar but it didnt look right. I then took the front bar off as ideally could do with trimming as it overhangs each side and will be a danger to my head I ended up mounting the spotlights on a bracket on the front bumper The spotlights are going to be wired into the mains via a relay. I'm also drilling a hole in each to mount some 501 bulbs wired to side lights.
I also have in the shed some led drl style lights with indicators that will probably be mounted either side of the front number plate. I have left the rear 2 bars in place and will mount my roof rack onto them

Front auxiliary lights wired into main beam via relay
Also trying to get to the bottom if the exhaust system clanging I was idly browsing the web for a full system as my flexi is blowing slightly too. Stumbled upon this gem on a well known auction site
